TUTT Shipping Update: Section 321 & New U.S. Tariff Amendments

Images: Ai Generated
As of March 3, 2025,
the U.S. administration has introduced amendments to duties affecting goods entering from Canada. This change, aimed at addressing illicit drug flow across the northern border, may impact shipping procedures, including the
de minimis exemption under Section 321, which currently allows duty-free imports for goods valued under $800.

Key Updates on Section 321 & U.S. Tariffs:

Amendment to Duties: The recent executive order revises previous directives, potentially altering duty-free de minimis treatment for certain goods.

Section 321 Status: While the de minimis exemption remains in place for now, its future availability depends on the implementation of new processing and tariff collection systems.

TUTT’s Response: Ensuring Seamless U.S. Deliveries

At TUTT, Canada’s Electronics Store, we are committed to adapting to these regulatory changes to ensure uninterrupted service for our U.S. customers:

Canada Post DDU Shipping: We have implemented Canada Post DDU (Duty Delivery Unpaid) shipping for U.S. orders. This means shipments will continue regardless of tariff changes, with duties and taxes—if applicable—paid by the recipient upon delivery.

New Fulfillment Option with Stallion Express: To reduce cross-border tariff impacts, our shipping partner Stallion Express now offers fulfillment from their 100,000 sq. ft. center in Buffalo, NY. Storing inventory in the U.S. ensures faster deliveries and minimizes potential tariffs.

What This Means for Our U.S. Customers

Continued Service: Despite regulatory changes, TUTT remains dedicated to delivering your favorite electronics without interruption.

Potential Duties: Depending on the final implementation of the amended duties, some shipments may incur duties and taxes payable upon delivery.

Faster U.S. Fulfillment: With select portable monitors and consumer electronics stored at Stallion Express’s Buffalo facility (starting April 15, 2025), many orders will ship domestically, reducing cross-border delays and potential tariffs.
